Martine is an actor and voiceover working in BBC Radio Drama, Corporate sectors and in the Community. Martine is a no nonsense, professional performer. With no time wasting or posturing, just skilled dedication and experience, Martine currently represents herself for voiceover work, thereby saving your company and production both time and money. Martine can work through thousands of words in a day. She is an excellent sight reader with masses of experience in presenting the Corporate voice for all your non-fiction, non-broadcast brown and straight narration.
Since 2015 Martine has been the voice of Sirius Minerals York Potash Project. Prior to this she was the voice of the Co-op, advertising everything from Rolls and Apples to Kitchen Towels and Christmas Puddings. She has played in BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour Drama serials, voiced TV and Radio Commercials and dramatized award winning animations and extensive Corporate voiceover.
Starting in provincial touring Theatre in the 1990s, Martine went on to train in Radio Drama technique with RADA and subsequently extend her performance work to Radio Drama and audio sectors. She has since gone on to narrate Travel Guides, York Boat’s grizzly Time Tour, numerous audio books, children’s stories, animation characters, Classic literature and educational resources. You may have heard her on numerous A level English Literature poetry recordings, including The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, Rhythm in Poetry, John Donne Sonnets, Scars Upon My Heart female poets of the First World War and The Romantic Poets, to name but a few.
Martine’s voice, with “neutral” accent has recorded Comic Vamps, Villains, “Immersive” History, Posh housewives and the wildly eccentric. Described as “Engaging but with a darker side…” it is the voice of mystery, excitement, intrigue and naughty people. It will set a scene, paint a picture, transport you to foreign shores and different times and hold the kids with that monkey and those sheep!
In addition to professional performance, Martine has worked as a freelance Voice and Performance Coach for over 25 years and as an International Speech and Drama Examiner and Adjudicator for the last decade.
